My g/f is working / living in Bournemouth so I'll be there a lot too. He wasn't all that young mate must of been in his late 30s I'd imagine (I was very young though 13,14)
I remember he used to say things (to my mum especially) which you'd normally keep to yourself and he'd apologise for it...

Don't agree with this. I've got something pretty epic coming my way in January, but it's on the hush atm (lets just say it's a lot more refined)
But sell the 172? What is the point? Worth very little in the grand scheme of things and I grin every time I drive it, I would gain f/a from getting...
Some people just price to sell. Also trade in he would be offered peanuts with that mileage. It looks true but as Daniel said it'll almost definitely need a bit of work, bushes etc. He'd help himself out by putting motorway mileage.

Head work would be last port of call imo! Very little be had there? That's an impressive torque figure, is that with the longer trumpets, or the runners? For what they cost I'm tempted to buy the 120mm trumpets, although I think space is an issue without removing more of the bonnet skin. Also...
