Check to see if the belts are due or done. That's the most common thing. It's worth taking it to a specialist when getting these done as there's so many pikey garages that think they know about these engines and actually don't. Where are you based? Welcome and lovely RS btw :)

It shouldn't go up as they was an optional extra. I notified my insurers when I put mine in and the price stayed the same.

The car needs to be jacked up on the beam, then place axle stands on the jacking points for the beam to drop. They will just fall out then.

C4 is the nuts. I paid £23-ish for the small bottle but its done all the exterior plastics and engine bay plastics with a 1/3 left. Good for min 2 years also :)
