I've seen a silver mk1 172 when I've been down visiting Mike or some friends.

There must be better springs out there other than the generic Eibachs.
I remember a friends dad approaching Leda at the autosport show a few years back and having some made up for his hill climb car.
Mark Fish also had "lowering" springs made up for somebody's Trophy IIRC, same sort of thing.

A common modification to a Mk2 Ph1 Clio is to replace the boring rear clusters with the newer Ph2 ones. It must be noted that when buying the Ph2 clusters, you will need both the lenses and the bulb holders.
