Some of the early 2007 models had a dodgy gearbox where the synchromesh fails afaik and need replacing.
If you opt for the 197, when test driving it, get your revs about 5000rpm in 3rd gear and then change to 4th to see if there is any crunching.
Mines an early 2007 and my gearbox is spot on -...
If you're 21+, been driving for 2 years, speak to @Neil@greenlight in regards to insuring you on a 197/200. 197's can be had cheap enough but it may just be the insurance that stings you.
Stick up a new thread, a project one. Put as many photos as you can up, list your plans and update it as and when you do anything to it. People can also give you personal advice in there also.
This is where you'll want to make the thread mate;

Ah, when I said welcome to 2011, although the car is a bit marmite, I wasn't on about that! The last post before yours was in 2011 in this thread! ;)
What are your plans for it? Not a bad car, just enjoy it and don't go mad on the MoDz!
Seen a silver one parked outside my bosses gaff a few times but saw this one today a bit further down the road. No CS sticker but anyone on here?
Sure we've had a play down Drift Road before.
Welcome to CS @Danmarcwalker ! Will keep you posted regarding meets. Not sure the go-kart one will happen as not enough interest so will need to arrange something else for you lot.
Brilliant news mate! Would have been devastated if you cancelled it.
Reason being is that I've spent a tonne of money on fast car stickers and I'm already hyped on my monster energy drink while I sit here in my new era 59 snapback and drainpipe jeans eagerly awaiting a drink with @Goodj !
@PP172 - tried the smaller socket or a reverse thread socket on the end of an impact gun? Wouldn't work for me solely because the 197 locking nuts have a spinning collar on. The only other option was to weld a socket to the centre of mine but the TyreWise guys had a pin socket which they hammed...
This is my last thread regarding wheel nuts as they're now off and I've got my spare set (& key!) but the guy from Tyrewise has just come and removed them using a socket with pins in and a torque wrench. He was battering the socket on to the nut, literally battering it to the extent the car...
Car does this every morning.
During this 10 second clip, it does it twice. A 'beep' noise coming from under the bonnet.
Any ideas?

Love mine mate but it is a bit of a go-kart. Not in the sense of it being light and nippy but in the sense that it's good fun until it breaks down every 5 minutes and needs work.
