Yep - fixed my steering wheel shake issue at 50mph+ Best bet (if you can manage it) is to get the wheels off and wash the inside of the front alloys (or all of them, if you you've moved front to back previously) - with some warm water and washing up liquid. Fairy is brilliant at getting the CV...

Re: Rear dampners/shocks Pretty sure the mounts are separate? Iirc, the bolt section of the top of the damper passes through and the locking nut screwed on top accordingly. Been a while since I've done mine though. D.

The Ph.1 172 wheels are MUCH better than the 182 version. As GrahamS says - they have a tendency to 'melt' and look genuinely awful. Even if they don't, the thumb-grip rubbers perish and crumble. A definite step-back from Renault there! D.
