a decent socket set (halfords are pretty good, dont let the name put you off!)
dont forget a set of TORX drivers, although they are more for doing interior work
mine has a habit of doing this, i stick my hand down the back of the engine where the ECU loom is and give it a good wiggle lol always fixes it for a couple of months!
strip it to save weight and sort out the handling, cat back exhaust system to give you a bit of noise to make it more fun.
ive been there done that with the 16v engine and can tell you its not worth it at all touching the engine.
depends how much you want to spend but id go for the...
this month matey
1600 16v
stainless tubular manifold, decat, 2.0 throttle body, headwork, manifold work, then eventually cams and lightned and balanced.
somethin a bit different from 2.0 conversion.
no, still on first engine, standard engine, powerflow cat back, loads of miles lol
engine went tits up today tho when water pump failed, just need to sort out my 1.6 conversion now.
they do feel faster when you dont drive them for a while. i was stuck with our 55 plate 1.2 16v dynamique for a week and when i went back to mine it felt rapid for 10 minutes lol then it was back to being slow again!
my shite mpg is probably due to mine spitting all the petrol out the...
from all the reviews i had read on here, the handling of the 172 didnt impress me at all when i was first in one, the speed did though. and they do look better.
but given the choice of a standard 172 or modded 1.6 dynamique id take the dynamique
hahahah yozza, gdi, awt watch your backs, if any of this guys future products are half as good as his current one!!
posts from me above were from my mate (spruce_guy) btw it auto logged him in on his computer because i had been on lol
so the existing dash is still behind with all switches and stereo still intact and your race car is now slightly heavier with that new dash!
Why do most guys remove the weight to gain an advantage and you shoot your self in the foot by adding that lol (try removing some of the dash first)...
Wouldnt you be easier just adding the guage pod to your existing dash and save the weight of that monstrosity of stainless steel and i am sure you could have place the last three!! switches somewhere on the existing dash?? i could be wrong but i doubt it lol
nice car mate, interior looks brilliant although the black plastic interior door handles seem to look out of place, id swap them for a set of silver "aluminium" look ones from a ph2 172/ph3 dynamique.
i noticed a difference when going round roundabouts at 70mph lol feels more solid and less flexi!!!
my front OMP ones got massive bolts going thru the suspension turrets and welded in!
