i think you will find that if you search the xbox forums back to november of last year when they did the update it killed loads of machines, the overheating was there from the beginning but that was smallfry compared to the update that killed many more machines, nothing to do with overheating...

so why was mine perfectly alright until the update, never froze, never crashed and never got hot, it started ding after the update and only when paying the new generation games like GOW and COD3, happened to so many people that way too, nothing to do with cooling.

the old regions based on dvd's were 1-6 1 being the US and 2 being europe HD-DVD has no region encoding. Blu-ray is going to have ABC i think, A is US and japan, B is europe/Australia and C is india, china and russia. best explained under the region coding section here...

oh and i have just finished watching the departed on HD-DVD and its an amazing quality disc, both BD and HD-DVD are supposed to be as good as each other for this title and I can confirm the HD-DVD version is very good quality.

yes but those extras only take you up to the spec of the PS3 for the same price so you don't get anything more for your money.

lol, exactly, i love my 360 but i have also played motorstorm on a ps3 and it was impressive, i just hope sony has got its online play right this time as the ps2 was awful, as long as they have copied the MS way we will be fine.

lol, fanboy of what, i have been playing my 360 since the day it came out, i love it and am only getting the ps3 for blu-ray and GT-HD. The only consoles I don't like are nintendo, IMO they are aimed more at kids and the japanese market, i like next gen consoles and again IMO the wii is not...

i think you'll find over £300 of it is for the bluray drive alone, Sony are losing hundreds of £'s on every unit sold so its hardly a ripoff.
