Good to see it's passed to a worthy custodian. As you say, old and reliable don't usually go together well! General interest in the mk1 172 seems to be on the up so I'm sure it's worth keeping as many on the road as possible. Good luck with it @mintno1
I'm on cup turinis with 195/45 s drives with 10mm stub axle spacers. Shocks were new last year and look bone dry. Maybe it's just the extra ballast on the driver's side. I'll have to diet some[emoji1]
Yeah Steve's the only one who's defected so far. We've had a few show meets but without you nobody wants to go to the Huntsman! Go karting last month was a good laugh, RV is supposed to be organising another one of those soon. I might try organise a huntsman meet at the end if this month. Keep...

Not got one myself but if you want the change to be a bit stiffer than standard then you might as well get one. It's a bit dearer than those standard parts though!
Lol you don't need anyone's approval, if it fits the criteria you had then that's all that matters. Believe me I can see the appeal of a comfy quiet commuter that can give a hit of adrenaline with some power, it's the polar opposite of the clio! The Audi is definitely the better choice over a...
What a c**k womble. Definitely post your review as far and wide as you can. If he won't refund you the last you can do is try keep others away from the c**t. Maybe all of cs could book in with him and give him a nice quiet week or 2!
Looks amazing that mate. It looks very low in the last pics too! Do the BC's have damping adjustment? If so did you play around with them when in track or is there a sweet spot that works on road and track? I fancy some decent coilovers for mine at some point but it's like a can of worms when...
Does your mate at Renault sweep the showroom? If he's a mechanic I'd recommend not taking your car there for work doing [emoji23].
Seriously though as has been said that's strong money for a 182 cup that needs belts in under a year. Also the cambelt isn't a job you want done by any old garage as...
Oh FFS! Don't ask them to fit a new door, you'll never get in the car again. You really need to name and shame them as much as possible after you've claimed your money back.
Took me preferred route home this morning as the road works have finished. It's has a nice little country stretch which is now beautifully smooth black top and great at 4.30am[emoji16]
That's good to get a short list of issues. Sort of shows the car has had some tlc in its life. Also good to have a reputable specialist not to far away. All you need to do now is enjoy it.
