Have you even driven the ST?
I personally don't like them either but i would certainly think they're quicker round a track the the Clio as is a lot of 'worse' cars, even a Megane RS. So why would it be any slower than a Clio on a 'country' road?
I would bet my ass the ST is faster in just...
My 172's xenons give a cool blue light but then they aren't as good as my Mini's. To be fair the car is a few years old so i guess technology has moved on.
Their service is non existant!
Black Circles will actually help you. I use mytyres and their prices are often good but if you want reliability then don't use them.
Shorter exhausts give more power.
Sounds like a decent bit of kit but those 17s are about 30 years old aren't they? I'd get smaller ones, looks like a monster truck on a little Clio.
My friends have 106s/Saxos and they have been worse than the Renault.
If you are buying privately i would ask the owner about wheel bearings, airbag warning light, exhaust and top suspension mounts. Let them know its not an issue that all these things have gone wrong, the important thing is if...
Get the wheels shipped to you and just look in Yellow Pages or Yell.com for local tyre fitters. If you ring around you will get a good deal in comparison to the online retailers.
Your mates could well be right. I doubt your backbox makes an positive or negative difference to be honest but i imagine in most circumstances an open filter is losing you power.
Ideally the thing to do would be to invest in a remap that caters for the filter and exhaust.
See if a member will do a part ex on the exhaust.
I returned my 1.2 to standard but left the Turinis on it. Can't believe how many calls i got, a girl cried on phone after i told her it was sold, lol!
You will make more money if you sell stuff seperate.
As Weeman says you will need the wheels to actually poke out of the arches (which is a MOT fail btw). Althuogh that Mk5 is not euro, too fussy!
Need to remove the side strips, smooth foglights etc. A lot of money but if i had it i'd probably do a similar thing..
From my perspective i wouldn't spend that much on a a little FWD hatchback but if you have the cash to splash then why not? Owning a Scooby driver would be priceless.
I do agree with Tom that this forum is a bit pathetic when it comes to these constant comparisons, but the fact is most members are young lads so it comes as no suprise.
I think you are somewhat misguided to think a CTR has a better image though. I hardly ever see 172/182s around so declaring...
