Regarding heat soak, I was curious the other night so took mine out a drive with my phone connected to the car using the Torque app, and measured the intake air temperature.
Outside air temp was around 3c. Idling with the engine up to temps, the intake air temp rose to around 25c after sitting...
I hate coming in here and knowing I can never go sport rep without custom driveshafts :( I do have more power though :smirk:
Quite like the boost gauge down there out the way.
I'm sure it was Menzerna 203s, which is now named PF2400. Started off with what I think was a white CG Hex pad (it's so old and used I'm not sure what colour it is now lol!) but it wasn't removing some of the marks so used an orange hex pad (medium-heavy cutting pad), and that done the trick...
Hmm, sounds like it could be a pig of a job lol. Then again I've not had a proper look at the linkages so I'm just guessing what you're both talking about.
Cheers though :) gives me a place to start looking. I'm assuming both the pin in the main linkage and the bush can be purchased as separate...
I think I probably will end up keeping it...still undecided for now though.
If I do keep it though I'll probably throw a bit more money into the interior. A snappy refurb and 182 interior with a set of recaro's would be ace, but I can't see me spending the money on them. I am badly in need of...
Decided I'd finally get a video of this and see if anyone knows what the problem is. Basically, in 1st and 3rd gear there is a LOT of side to side movement/play. 2nd and 4th are fine, as is 5th gear. I'll let the video explain the rest, but you can see when I select 1st and let the gearstick go...
Set out today to clean the car up and get some photos of selling it. Ended up machine polishing the headlights and bonnet and completely neglected the inside!
Got a few pictures of the headlights though, they weren't hazed before by any means, but they had loads of little scratches in them from...
Lol! I think my biggest problem is the fact I want the 123d. If I settled for a 120d I'd have loads of choice, but the 123d just appeals more to me for some reason. Found one about 20 miles from me the other day and it was perfect, all bar the cream leather interior!
Nope I don't think so, I...
Yeah, I've been looking into BMWs too actually. Was looking at 123d coupe's for ages. I really like them, would make such a difference commuting in something like that, but they're holding a good premium over the hatchback 1 series' and the well specced ones in my budget are all higher mileage...
I'm in two minds. Was offered a half decent price on a Mk5 Golf GT Tdi, which was the main reasoning behind selling, simply to have something a bit more refined to commute in but I like the fact that this is costing me next to nothing to run at the moment. The loan I got to buy it in the first...
Lol! Better safe than sorry I guess :tongueout:
I can't remember on the 65's, is the wastegate controlled with an adjustable rod type thing (worst description ever) coming from an actuator? I'm just thinking if that's the case, maybe someone's adjusted it in the past to try and up the boost...
My first thoughts are that the wastegate isn't opening properly. So the car is overboosting, then when it climbs above a certain point, the ECU goes "woah f**k that!" cuts back fuel (bringing the coil light on), and so the boost drops back. Does that sound remotely plausible? Lol.
Long time since I've updated this. Been thinking about selling, and have put it up in the for sale section on here (linky link) but I'm not entirely sure if I want to sell it. It's a good running car, has never cost me much to run, and having the likes of cruise control and stuff still makes it...
Just gave it a go. First attempt (2nd lap round, so running start) was a 05:40.461, ranked 8218 in the world, although that was with one rewind, due to a tinder related distraction 😂 Harder than it looks though!
18" is far too short! I've got 21" and 22" on both my cars. Like Darren has said above, best clearance, but the 22" one gets rid of the little triangle that never wipes at the bottom of the screen
Did you mean @Danny_172 ?
Don't worry, I f**king love ribs, I can see this becoming quite regular if it goes well lol! Enjoy your birthday though mate!
