Maybe, but then what is the group of the VTS?I honestly dont know what it is, but Id imagine that it is fairly similar, maybe a group or two less. Just been anwered above! So, if taking insurance into comparison, it becomes a negligable...

saxo vts is group 14 !!!
ok thats fair enough, the 106 GTi was only a 12 (maybe 13) yet was the same car and speed (handled better).
Maybe my gripe is more with the vtr crew as owning a 106 GTi I know what a VTS is capable of. You...

Interesting thread this one.Again people are making the mistake of comparing new against old...172/182s are not YET chavvy because aforementioned chavs cannot yet afford to buy them and afford insuance. The fact that Renault have priced them...
saxo vtr and vts = chav mobile
106 GTi = grown ups saxo (much more rare, less chavved up and much better all round)
172/182 = grown ups 106 GTi. (about the same handling but better interior and faster)
this is my little one, nearly fills the side window but I think it looks damn cool!

I Guarantee that when the RenaultSport version comes out all you lot will be creaming your pant again and will quite happily not associate it with the 1.2 model they are showing in those pics! It will be amazing and you will love it, nobody likes change until it happens and they realise it...
thats a fair enough point, not everyone can like them, just like if I drove a valver I would probably hate it.
The fact that you are in the minority means that you either drove a bad one or had a really bad test drive or that you like your older cars too much and maybe arent suited to the best...
this is what I looked to buy last year as I like an open face one due to me wearing glasses and a full face means my breath steams my glasses up.
This have the British standard jobbie so seems fine ot track day use IMO...
I think they designed new cup badges for the 182 and if so make sure the dealer doesnt fob you off with 172 cup badges.
Glad you are happy, need to see one in the flesh now as I still havent, only an inferno megane.

An Elise may be a drivers car but it could never be described as fast IMHO a Clio sport would murder it.
eh, what are you on mate, I disagree with the clio being slow on track on the other comment but to say thay a clio would murder an...
There is a pattern here, the 182 always does badly in autoexpress tests, they have never rated it up with the others, when up against the Cooper S it has lost a couple of times and if anyone has seen their Hot Hatch DVD it only comes 8th (full fat 182 that is) behind the CTR, Cooper S and Fabia...
