It really is worth it m8, if you can manage it. Totally transforms any racing game - making it play like it should be played. What's better is that the software makes them so tunable to the type of game you're playing. On F1, I have the feedback quite heavily loaded so that I'm effectively...
I think the level of angst raised is purely down to how key such timings are to the sport. Yep, it's a computer game and nothing more. But if true, then such core functions of timings should have been there from the outset. Especially as many, many racing games have managed the same over the...
A small point that reflects the real life cars - is it just me who gets easily distracted by the stub aerial ahead of the cockpit? It's slap-bang in the middle of the drivers vision and has took me a while to look 'beyond' that. I bet the real F1 guys have long since forgotten that it's even...
It does support it for the PC as the game runs with Games for Windows Live. I haven't tried it though. The last time I used a pad on a racing game was with Gran Turismo 2 on the PS1.

Erm. wow.
Just spent 20mins on Spa as its probably the circuit I know best. Going flat out through Eau Rouge in 7th for the first time was superb as was the feel of the car in general.
I love the attention to detail on it. I majorly got one corner wrong and got the left-side of the car running...
Krispwee - a smaller scale of your setup, m8!
Amazon delivered it this morning, so that's my Saturday sorted out. Didn't bother with the extra gearstick on the G25 for this one - I didn't think it would be needed! :)

Interesting....
When I did a track day at Oulton about 8 years ago, there was a Ferrari on track (iirc a 360) that was plastered with The Last Ninja livery. Made by System 3, that was always one of my favourite games on the Commodore 64, but I just found it a little random why it was so heavily...
Cheers m8 - just checked on Steam and he's playing it now, so it must be working. :)
However, my Amazon copy wasn't here when I got home. Boo! :(
edit - he fecking loves it too... :D

Guys - just for comparison - could someone post a screenshot of their ping times whilst in a game? Quite intrigued to see if this has any bearing on some recent events. I know my internet speed at home is s**t, but I'd like to see just how s**t compared to others. ;)
Cheers,
D.
I wouldn't even DREAM of playing online via wireless - cables FTW! And that goes for both controllers and the internet connection.
It is weird how certain things bug me online. I can get totally owned (like 6/13 K/D just on BC2 now) and not be bothered. But at other times, I can be on 18/1 or...
Lee - do you know if the Steam version gets unlocked today? My nephew has bought it via Steam, but I don't think he can use it yet?
Cheers,
D.
Lol! Too right! I've got my Logitech G25 wheel all ready to go as well. :approve:

Got an awesome kill against me last night. Parachuting in on Valdez, I got shotgun'd from a bloke at Point B. Point fecking B! I proper lol'd. I think I need to start using those....

I only do when it's clearly bollox what's happening on screen. A few harsh expletives and five seconds later, I'm fine again. :)
Makes me laugh when non-gamers call you sad/pathetic/grow-up etc, then they literally want to smash your phone to bits after 30secs of Peggle or Angry Birds...
Smoke specialisation? It's awful - lol - it creates more of an issue for the tank driver than putting off the opposing AT firer. Even if that stops the tracer the first time, they just zap you with another.
I only ever use the RPG against tanks (I'm 90% of the time an engi) and don't even...
Interesting - still doesn't appear to be 100% proven either way!
As far as I know points gained by picked up kits go to the corresponding kit - of course BC2s flaky netcode probably gets it wrong at least part of the time. Remember it's the gun etc you're carrying that determines where the...
They are utterly stupid.
Zap someone with an arrow-straight marker pen that doesn't just last for 20secs or so - but much longer. Then hide behind some impervious scenery and launch AT rockets with impunity. Even the sinper has to have at least a brief line-of-sight to launch a mortar strike...
Just come off a server before I rage quit. f**king tracer darts EVERYWHERE.
DICE - please, please, please, please, please, please,PLEASE remove this f**king joke from the game. Please. Pretty please.
Anyways. v1.51beta for BF2142 has come out with the inclusion of the Karkand map = awesome...
I'm pretty much convinced that (on the PC version anyway) they have toned down the M60 a bit. Used it at the weekend and couldn't hit for s**t - seriously bad and even in bursts. Tried it again last night and it was the same. Switched after a few goes to the Thompson again and it was back to...
Why 200 as a figure specifically? Potentially, that can be a lot of ££££ for not much gain, imo. I'd personally aim for much higher figures and forced induction...

Ah, I see. But do you know if you do continue to make points against the class if you pickup the same class kit as yourself?
On a seperate note - I managed to get my first anti-helo pilot kill last night (not news for many people, I know!) on Port Valdez Rush. Playing as the Russians, we pushed...
On BC2 (Scutch will probably know this) - am I right in saying.....
Pick a class - e.g engineer and kill with it = points gained.
Still as engineer - pickup dead recon's kit and kill with it = no points gained.
