Re: RB182 Diary
Got it fitted tonight, whoever said these were quiet systems must have been joking :rasp:
Some pictures of my uncle finishing off fitting it.
Mine has been doing this on cold mornings.
When it was over the pit last night I found out I need pads all round and new front discs. Annoying thing is just 2 months ago when i had my bonnet catch done renault reported my discs and pads as being in new condition, might have saved my discs if...
lol, i was surprised when you rang me and asked me if it was still on, was thinking what a random question :S
I'm sure you'll get it off tomorrow, follow up appointment at the hospital?
Weird how it worked once though.
I'm pretty confident on the slip rings, we have big issues with them at work and try to avoid putting any control through them.
The wheel is staying until ive tried it though.
I get the green light, and the set----. But the buttons do nothing at all.
It has worked once, last week. For the full journey but then didnt work after that.
Never been to renault while ive had it but it does have fsh mostly from renault, apart from the bonnet recall which i took it in for 2 months ago.
So far ive replaced both pedal switches, and ive tried a new map. Now I just have this to try and if it doesn't work i'll stick my new wheel on...
Nope, nothing.
Spotted this from cliospares, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Renault-Clio-Airbag-Slip-Ring-Squib-Clock-Spring_W0QQitemZ280431752285QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item414b08f45d#ht_1982wt_1167
might order that now, just need to find out if we get a discount or not
Need one from a CC car though, since i am trying to get the cruise working atm.
I might just send it into renault and let them sort, getting fed up of it now. I just hate paying their diagnostic charge  Dont mind paying for labour and parts but the fact they charge so much for 5 minutes...
Take it back to the dealer, I'm sure they have to provide either 1 or 3 month warranty even on used cars.
Thats what I was told when vw main dealer wouldn't sell me a p/x going to auction as a trade deal, since they still by law have to warranty it.
Daniel should know if this is true or not?
lol, never helped do one on that engine, I helped my uncle do a couple of peugeot/citroen old diesels (belt not chain) and presumed they'd all be similar.
Although i never said it was easy, just cheap to DIY
IMO, if your going non sport just go for a dynamique. Most are anyway, they dont cost much more if at all and the spec is decent.
Also, early dynamiques dont have auto wipers/light.
Try selling in the free places with plates blanked and pics at a location away from home as it is.
If no-one offers you enough/anything then fix it up and decide whether to keep or sell.
