In the interest of full disclosure then, Danny at 519 automotive re-sells KTEC components. This may include the map, although he does now do in house mapping.

You're right though, the lacquer could be clouding or hazing or whatever the technical term is, but if the paint has faded under the lacquer, you're pretty much stuck with it, right?
Not much really, it's not like an old vauxhall corsa where it can be polished back to life, it'll be the colour faded under the clearcoat, and iirc there's not much you can do about that.

That's pretty much what I was saying. Take a 12v from under the cigarette lighter to under the dash top. Put iPhone behind the fuse box or similar over the side of the dash.
Buy an iPhone 3GS and a PAYG sim with £50 credit or whatever, enable find my iphone, run a charger from the cigarette lighter to wherever you want to hide the phone. Sorted.
