I personally wouldn't lacquer it, but that's your call. Most paints and lacquers should be just fine up to the sort of temps the inlet and fuel rail guard are going to get to though.

Some really nice shots there, quite a few are moving over to the more compact cameras and there seems to be no downside!

Dude, a set of apex springs won't change anything you've mentioned. I say apex as they're cheaper, and on a non sport, they're entirely fine. I ran them on my ph1 non sport, it wasn't silly low, didn't scrape, handled far better, and looked cracking.
