Nick, the basic reason is rules. in any and every form of racing there is usually a capacity limit.
as we all know, power is made by burning fuel, to burn fuel, we need air...well o2.......
Fuel is the easy part, we can add as much as we need, but passing and processing air is the hard...
when you deal with tehm, yopu will find them extremely understanding and polites and helpful.
they products are also about teh best you can get for the GTT and 172....
join the fezzy club...but admittedly, it is a mk3......;)...JKing!
anyhow
MK1 XR2
std short motor bar high CR 1300 pistons
heavily ported and flowed flat type head, 41.3mm inlets, 37.5 ex valves all with 30 deg cutbacks, 3 angle seats (30/45/70), bronze guides, titan std ratio roller...
its not a thump in the back of the head like most people think, just teh car goes faster. but with 25bhp, its nothing to dramatic. i run 50 and its more than enough, well, for me......i hardly ever use it.
the means of running rich or lean is far more cloudy today than ever as most engines head will be desined to run on leanburn technologies and make just as much power. so, lean and rich is relative to your engine and where it runs best.
my kent likes to run rich, but teh late 80s leanburn CVHs...
you gotta get me in that GTA mate, but put some seat covers on as brnig some clean pants aswell........;)
indeed the new ford are fantastic! and i applaud their quality.
it seem the mkt is getting higly competitive and i will need to havea serious talk with board to see what we can do so...
ask them.......
i personally have never needed one, but some people ahve cars which get very hot in traffic or when thrashed, which in most cases is just an old thermo which doesnt open the whole way.
well, i would go if it awsnt such a waste of time.
takes ages to get there, need a visa, track is awful, bumpy, lots of dust and stones (like a gravel rally course!) the karts are poorly maintained, the hotel and food is so awful.....i used to race tehre but left after 2 yrs as it was such a...
i would think teh stess on driveline components in 1.4 miling was more than a track day as you gently roll into and out of corners. true, you can pitch it all you want and be truely agressive with it, but youll get nowhere fast.
but dumping a clutch in 1st through to 4th or 5th will put more...
the thermo controls flow of water to the radiator. when it gets hot (to a pre determined temp), it opens to allow awter to the rad. teh fan temp switch simply turns on teh fan behind the rad at a set temp.......basic cooling of water in the engine.
what he bought was a thermo that opened...

true...but at least there is a HK something!
HK seems to be lacking much of what made it so special.....its far too bland and unwelcoming now. you really do have to know teh right people to truely enjoy HK, and be involved in a few select activities. But im not being racist, but those who have...
tell me about it!
when my clio obverheated on the motorway in traffic, i had t push from teh fast lane to teh hard shoulder...anyhow, getting it there was hardwork and i almost clipped the door off as pushing, steering (with no power) a and trying to brake so not to hit the other cars was...
yup, prefectly legal........we say ours is the safest and best, BMW asys theirs handle the best etc etc.....but we never name other companies....
Btw, why up so late la!?
oh, and did you join the pug club!?
yup, and it will share all of the new reanult platforms. the new clio and micra will share their plateform and will be substantially larger in size.
Tony...thats why there is a V6!!!!
140bhp froma 2ltr aint bad considering that the clio williams had a higly tunned 2ltr with 150.....getting...
that was pre ignition and you could see where it was sourcing off the same area in the squish area....but that was running seriously lean, and we corrected it before anything happened so, so, im not afraid to do anythign to the engine.
the engine can safely run 215bhp on Tbs as we fitted to...
i was thinking that, super bikes of the 150-180bhp run 10s or so, and we all know just how fast they accelerate!
but doesnt it get the slightest bit boring goin up and up this strip..always the same?
throw me some corners anytime...
haha, sounds like a cool place to stir up some real arguements i think ill go on teh forum and really get somebody busting a gut!
the new Vel Satis, yup, deffo different! but sapce is not a concern due to the high spade shaped rear windows onteh 2 new cars....lots of headroom.
But i think...
Thing is the kent lives on RPM, and so do i.......i love rpm..the more the merrier.....but 7500 is fine for now.....as a steel items is a bit wacko on the pricing...but its got leccy fan so a steel front pulley is all i need for anciliaries, although the item on the fezzy is stronger than on...
well, i dont go to drag strips, not my cup of tea....kinda all over before it starts kinda thing.
but 320bhp GTTs running mid 12s, and 190bhp clios (weighing more) are in the mid 14s!!!! wacko jacko!
anyhow, drag suspension is almost as complex as track suspension setting. the correct...
CO readings.......sniffing the tailpipe dont work to well.
as for the ecu, i woudnt worry too much, the 172 is a much more complex and dedicated item....just cause its less powerful doesnt mean its any more likey to break,......itll probably last longer actually.
