Not really sure what the proper name for it is, but something that means I can get the camera horizontal to the floor. My tripod will rotate so the lens faces the floor, but it doesn't get it far enough away from the tripod. Kinda hard to explain so I've commissioned an artist to explain...

You'll be able to use wifi but it won't connect to the network (o2) for internet.

Not sure about 'true' or what you mean by that, but I get 5.1 out of mine.. You need one of these for the mini.. http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=29296 that goes in the headphone port and makes it so you can connect and optical cable.

Settings > General > Network >Cellular Data Network > Type a load of crap instead of whats there. Then it won't be able to get online.
