Awesome shot, Ben! Love the look on your face!
Vish, you don't need money. Just a bit of time/imagination. Everyday doesn't have to be the best shot you've ever taken. It's supposed to be a bit rough around the edges. Although I seem to buy endless crap to fulfil my 'ideas' Lol.
Twist the lens to 18mm. Av mode and roll the scroller. It will only go down to f3.5 if you're at 18mm.
Then if you twist it through to 55mm, you'll see the aperture change.
Then you want AV mode. Kit lens? So at 18mm it will go down to f3.5 and then f5.6 at 55mm.
f3.5 would have got you a nice depth to the shot but ideally you'd like a bit lower, well, I would. But I'm a DoF wh0re! ;)
Get a 50mm f1.8 lens. You can get one for about £90 I think. Probably the best...
What camera/lens?
If you can change the settings, you want a small f number. Depends what it goes to, not sure if you got an SLR or a P&S. But something like f2 would have been nice.
If not, then stick it in portrait mode.
One and two would be nice with a really shallow DoF!
I thought it looked like a good pic setting this morning but it was faaaaaaaaaar too cold to start pissing about with my camera! Lol.
Well Ph2 172/172Cup/182/Trophy are all the same in those factors.
Yet the 172 Cup and Trophy are far superior to the others.
Nobody here is voting for the 182/172Ph2 because they think it's the best, they're voting because that's what they own.

Lol @ spurred on. You great big sheep. Think of the slating you gave all of us superior ones at various events when you out numbered!
You still should have waited btw ;)
