great, another pssssssst fanatic...i personally hate that sound........
well, some people have had it done....
basically, call torsion tunning, see whats needed, apart from a donor GTT and another 1500 quid or so.
well, as nick said earlier, if you hasd the same caliper to begin with then the piston size will be the same........
but i had smaller pistons in my OE caliper.....and it did travel much further.
haha.....you know ya cant sell it!
what would you get?
surely not a 172?
if the head is damaged, and it is modded, ill do your new one super cheapo to get you back to what you had.......when im back that is.
but i doubt its damaged as it would of blown any metal flakes from teh thread...
uh huh!
well, i would hazard a guess that ptentiometers from most of the current Renault cars will be the same.
and yes you must run it otherwise the ECU doesnt know throttle position.
So, check connectors on the potentiometer on both TBs you look at. oh,and your cars a MK1 aint...
indeed, a std head and cams should not be able to make that power.....
But talking to nick in one of the other posts, he has tested and has lead to some weird findings. the ports aer actually too big, and yours could possibly be std. it would explain the 16vs lack of torque low...
excelent mate, but only prob with jap cars is Jap tunning gear is so so so so dear!!
i should know, i got a Hachi Roku being restored with a stonking 220bhp 1.6 4age motor (formula atlantic spec), and a whole load of toda racing parts, TRD stuff, cashiew and revolver parts....i tell you what...
haha.....again, i dont like the GTiR.....now thats a car which understeers! but thats the average 4WD road car.
oh, if your gonna get a Porsche, make it a 964, the std boxster is heavily underpowered....by a long way......although it does handle well.....
but a 964 will be cheaper, faster...
well, it has been several years since i have even glanced at one.......
anyhow, things have come along way since then........but i dont think prep was a problem with TOMs hahaha.
ahhhhh...i just noticed you own a supra......no offence mate....im just telling it like i have seen and heard it...
oops.....forgot to mention, Tiff raced for us and he hated them too.........got some fab pics of him in the Olympia blue and white supras though.....mind you, the track is exptremely bumpy and the supra didnt like that. But the skylines did fly away with it, they had to add 150kg of ballast to...
Haha,
sorry barry, i neglected to mention that i have driven almost every evolution of the supra ecept for the first.
My Father, who now works for renault, was the MD of Toyota HK and China.
anyways, we had the plain 3ltr, then the turbo, then the twin turbo........all of which, are rapid...
haha, steelies can actually be lighter than comparable size allows as they are not as thick. i use steelies on the track cause they are cheap and lighter than my alloys.
Steve: dont lean with the car haha......its not a bike, and its very bad driving technique. your shoulders & waist to hold...
well, i think the main cuplrit here was excessive heat soak as its usually about 37 Deg C ambient so the compartment get hot.......vaporisation in teh lines and some electrical faults.
just wondering if you had any probs with it.
the DFV, now were talking.......!
i would have to go along the lines of the BDA for the sound alone, or the BRM H16 for the balls to do it........and that sounded even better.
not one of my fave, the Kent is one of my fave.........but i would rather work with the GTT lump, and all i said was that its better than your 1.2.
and no, fittin and exhahust will not cause harm.....UNLESS its fitted badly and blowing, back pressure on a turbo is not theoretically needed, to...
hey dash, have you ever had starting probs when teh engine is hot, and stalling when comming up to the lights etc?
all our V6s came down with the same probs on the same week!!!
well, im afraid to say teh supra is a bit pants compared to other Jpa cars. DOnt look so good, box is crap....handing is worse.
the older supra were even worse.....death traps....
i have not directly compared the V6 item, but making an adaptor plate should not be hard at all...its only 4 bolts
as for machining, i dont understant what you mean. machine the bottom end?
even if you do make the part after the throttle plate larger, the same size TB opening will be the...
i dont drive my clio at the mo, and the 172 is in HK....so kinda far for meets and stuff.
anyway, the RT will be fixed soo, and i will join when it is.....no point otherwise as i havent been able to go to any events etc....and i dont do criuses etc........
well, insurance aint so much of a prob.............
cause on teh continent, insurance premiums are so much lower. my mate has a 1.3 golf here, where he had a beemer 328i and an audo A8 in switzerland........Doi, why are we paying so much.
besides, dealers buy teh cars off the factory so they...
its all bout finding one that will match your piston (oedal) travel, and caliper pison size. most tyes will mount the same and be fine....but just check.
haha, you just dont understand that hig tec doesnt mean its better.
people are still using teh old Kent crossflow to power caterhams and westies up to 180bhp....they are over 60 yrs old in desigh and initially came out with about 50bhp.....
they are one of my fave engines, and are also...
1500bhp in qualifying trim..........
but head to head, the lag cause some major drivability probs.
i think the main problem with turbos now is emissions compliance, and thats why some of them are running silly big boost as std.
witha turbo, reliability, cooling etc are not probs at all...
or the fact that the knocing is coming from the left might indicate its the left side.
and fitting big wheels aint a science, minimal ET deviation and the right tyre is all you need. it shouldnt alter geometry or suspension points.
so, something is loose or broken or touching on lock.
