i used to hate the theory of saequential boxes as i felt it took the skill out of driving.
But since i started using them about 4yrs ago, its deffo the best thing you can do...it cust huge amounts of time off you lap as you can shift mid corner and makes the most beautiful noies!
the way the sadev unit is also manufactured in a way that it uses very little of the engines power (i.e low transmission losses)....basically that is, there is no science to the car.

cranks are fairly strong and they can usually be reved quite high just in case of an overev on downshift. so, i have my 172 crank running 7750....and im always running around near that as the ratios in 2nd allow me to.
My MK1 XR2 (1982) is 20yrs old and manufacturing tolerances are much better...

well, the darc coulour of teh carbon absorbs heat better, this increasing the ambient temp inside the car. This, relative to the outside temp is higher...which helps to decrease the weight of the car, as we all know, hot air is lighter than cold!
