Brilliant read Jon.
Glad to see it's all running-ish.
You should have called when you were doing the bits, I'd have been more than willing to be an extra pair of hands/car full of spares.
Adam, what the hell do you do?
I'm guessing you've come from somewhere fairly well off to have the golf at 17? (I don't mean to pry).
Anyway, I've actually had a few cars now...
So, in order of ownership:
My first car, got me started on cliosport, was a great little 1.2 8v, cost me...
I need to come to Scottishland and let kev show me whats what I think!
Lovely car that, the detail has made such a difference. How the hell has he got those wheels so good with wire wool etc?
I think this one will do ya,

My advice is call the guy from demon tweeks that gets us discount on here, he's amazingly helpful and really knows his stuff.
I've...
There's three wheels to the right, in a vertical line...
Click the top one.
The three different materials look slightly different.
Polyurethane is the one on want.
It will be EXACTLY the same as the ones pictured.
Cheers, is the stuff you used way better than something like Autosol? Mine will be a little older and tougher I'd imagine.
Brilliant looking car though. Jealous doesn't even cover it.
Immense!!!!
Question re-metal polish... any reason to not use wire wool and whatever??
I need to clean my exhaust tips and the boot lock so I'd love a recommendation.
Not really, it's not a case of taking the weight off, you'd have to lift the wheels right off of the floor to feel any effect.
You've got the weight of the car and the compression of the spring pressing the underside mount against the turret, I don't think it's going too far.
Even if you...
FYI, the only purpose of those top parts is pretty much so that the strut doesn't fall out of the hub when the front wheels come off the floor or similar.
Missing nothing amigo, they're brilliant all rounders. Before I picked this up, I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of them more?
I guess it was the 3.0, I thought I'd never get insured and it'd drink fuel like mad.
If I were you, I'd buy one off of the zed forum, there's some awesome cars...
Where abouts are you from??
Driver side I assume??
FYI it doesn't matter if it's 172 or 182, because the "white dots" on the 182 seats are caused by the material underneath, which can be swapped over I believe.
If I can find it, I'll take £20 if you can collect?
Hi.
I had the same thing, got a spare seat bottom (from a seat that had the airbag go off)
A pro said he could change it over for 30 quid.
I think you could do it yourself with a bit of patience.
I'm quite sure I still have another spare (I ended up with more than one), want me to...
I'd personally undo the four bolts from under the car holding the seat in and remove it to give the whole thing a clean, also lets you get right under there.
Interior shampoo both seats, as you wouldn't want one being brighter than the other.
