Re: Z4 - Perfect No More (But it's being fixed so it's all OK)
I need a new centre caps all around anyway!
Just got my hire car document through, doesn't say what car it is, need to wait for a call for that, it does however show that whatever it is will cost mr ginger £189 a day!
FLOL!
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More (But it's being fixed so it's all OK)
They just had to phone the other parties insurance to check they had the correct policy in place to provide me with a "prestige courtesy car" because I asked for one of the same standard... LOL!
But quite a few have Danny, and there are some decent pictures showing the problem, the centre of the spacer is not flush with the hub!
Squirrel, ANY of those brand will be fine, I've personally used eibach and FK, the quality was brilliant.
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More (But it's being fixed so it's all OK)
:o
Well I just assumed it was you with your "ring-ness", my apologies.
Well, that sounds scary!!!
I won't be claiming for anything silly, but if the wheel that is refurbed doesn't match the others, I'll want the whole set done...
Right.
I've posted this so many times....
Do NOT scrimp on spacers... yes, some look cheaper, it's because in comparison they're pony.
A few do's:
Please get the spacers that come with bolts, i.e they bolt to the hub and then the wheel bolts to them
Please do not get delta mic's...
Had no idea you were modifying this and totally missed this thread. It looks awesome mate, like the mods so far too.
Owners club sticker does not look good though, quarter of the size and it'd be fine.
It'll be neglected no more! I want to find a shot of it on 18" CSL's before I form my opinion. I'm not going to lose any money on them really, just the small loss when if sold them on, so I am VERY tempted to go for it.
I'd love to come clean (meaning drive) the golf! The 320 was clean as...
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Just been and met the assessor... as long as there's nothing insane hidden behind there he won't be writing anything off.
He's declaring it un-roadworthy so that I get my courtesy car ASAP rather than when I drop it off to their workshop, declaring it that also means...
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
I will properly laugh if I do. Whatever I have, I won't have for long as hopefully it'll be repaired.
If they write if off I'll be proper upset and have the hire car for ages probably!
I hope so, he's scratched a wheel, so I'm not sure what they'll do about...
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Knowsit. ;)
Thankfully.
Estimator phoned, will be at mine at 2-2:30. Hopefully I'll get a time estimate once he's finished.
Just had a better look and he's grazed a wheel too... full respray so they match you say?? LOL
I had a bad feeling about that...
I love cleaning the car in summer (sad I know) so it'll be all good until it gets cold when polands finest can take over :o
I'm glad you like the look of it as it was, it looked brilliant. What's you opinion of the CSL wheels Laura?
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Cheers all.
Well actually, the young lad tried to only give the Audi driver his details and was just going to drive off and leave mine. It's only that a friend saw it out of the window and ran out that I had any contact!
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Been on the phone all morning, and I mean ALL morning.
Everything is now sorted, assessor coming over today/tomorrow.
I have decided not to pick my own bodyshop, I picked the best out of the bunch that were approved. This is because by picking your own bodyshop...
Sorry I haven't answered these sooner, been a bit "busy"...
You're not as close to the rear axle as you may think (i.e not sitting on it) and IMO considering how insanely low to the ground the car is, it's certainly not crashy. My brother (35 and fussy) said "I can't believe how good the ride...
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
You're telling me, I feel so annoyed I don't even know how to express how annoyed I am.
I'm mainly so bad because I haven't been able to talk to insurance yet etc, after tomorrow I should feel better, much better.
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Yeah there's a coachworks near me that R-sport steve uses, seem brilliant.
I'll give them a call first thing and see how busy they are and if they're insurance approved.
I'll be up early as hell to get this sorted, I want it done yesterday TBH.
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Brilliant :)
That's cheered me up a bit.
Just got to see how badly he's playing silly beggers now. I've got a feeling he's really going to drag his heels. Never did send me the Audi drivers email. FFS.
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Thanks for all the sympathy/love.
I'd heard it's my choice where it gets repaired but I don't really know anywhere amazing around here. I guess I'll have to have a look.
I'm not sure whether to send it to the local BMW or not?
To any of you who have dealt with...
Re: Z4 - Perfect No More
Just spoke to a witness.
Two cars colided, Clio and an Audi, I've been around to the Clio's house and they're a bit ....
Clio drivers mum has told me that there was a man walking a dog and he's a witness, everyone else I've spoke to has said there was no one about...
Well, two weeks of enjoying it and one weekend cleaning so it was mint, then today I return to this:
Two cars collided next to it whilst outside a friends, neither are accepting liability so I need to speak to my insurance tomorrow.
This is the worst thing ever, supposed to be...
Cheer Owen :)
From what I've seen, the BMW's are much easier to retro fit stuff, take the steering wheel for example, 9/10 of them have the wiring sitting there for it just not plugged in. I'll check the seat wiring when I get a good chance and see.
Ta mate, your 106 isn't so bad either...
Heated seats are the only thing it's missing, I've said this to about 9 people now with a sad look on my face.
From what I've seen, heated seats come up occasionally as people upgrade to sport seats, so I'm keeping an eye out. The zed forums are really good too.
I hope the 18's will look...
