    Cold weather detailing

I'm hoping to do the Williams this weekend - i have just got some fk1000p for winter protection. I know that once its cleaned though, it'll look horrible by the time i'm done, so disheartening!

    Williams #161 First Photo's

Its had a had a clutch about 5000 miles ago, when the box was fully refurbished, so i doubt it'll be the clutch, was replaced for a sachs clutch too. I will be changing them back, but they are at work at the time of taking the photo's, i agree they don't look right!

    Williams #161 Project

Yesterday i gave the williams a good first clean. Washed with Dodo Supernatural, Lime Primed, a layer of White Diamond and a layer of Dodo Supernatural wax. Trims were in a bad state when i bought it, gave it a good covering of peanut butter and that greatly helped bring them back up to...

So far, i prefer it. Its brilliant to drive, even on a day to day basis at the moment. The only problem is the very heavy cable clutch, the bite is at the very bottom of the pedal, so is taking some getting use to!

Yes, i did notice that whilst cleaning it actually, will need to get it looked at properly.

    Toyo T1-R's

Hankook V12 Evo's, very little extra but one of the better tyres on the market. I have T1-R's on the williams, and want to get them changed ASAP.

Renault have infuriated me today, ordered 5 parts in total, 2 have arrived and one of them is wrong. They have sent one scraper seal and no more seals and the rear boot trim they have managed to send a ph2 one, Grrr!!

    lincolnshire meet and greet

Olivers Mount is a great place, its maybe a place for spring/summer though rather than depths of winter! How about another meet at Woodcocks, then go for a bit of a roadtrip around the countryside? Or how about go-karting here http://www.gridlineracing.com/

Good photos. That blue zs' is one of my best friends, very quick little car, was as quick as my old cup on track, albeit he is a better driver than me. I think he spent the latter half of the day enjoying the rain in semi slicks, sideways!!

    Williams #161 Project

Had all the dents taken out this morning, there was one down near the filler cap, that was a proper pain in the arse to get out. Had 4 in total removed, for £30 so all in all pretty cheap :)

Cheers Lee, yeah so far seems a good'un. Fitted new indicator units tonight and whilst they are tons better, they make the headlamps look really dull. Tempted to get headlamps to make it look a bit fresher :)

    Williams #161 Project

I am never truly happy with any car, they nearly all have there flaws and quirks. My main aim is to get it looking presentable and getting it running correctly. I have had a look on autodata today regarding timing belts, it lists it as a 5hr job and advises to change aux belt and pulley at the...

    1994 172'd Mk1 Valver Track Car

I think you might be able to mount one in the front and one in the middle, may aswell make it 4wd whilst your at it, or is that maybe a step too far.

I'm with Daz on this one, i also think it is a deceptively lightweight engine.

    Williams #161 Project

I am very impressed with the way it drives compared to the cup. The handling is very crisp, id say it probably handles a tad better than the cup, and the cup was on H&R coilovers properly set up. You can feel absolutely everything that the front wheels are doing, its a much rawer driving...

    Williams #161 Project

Yeah, i presumed it was right as it goes up and down ok from the passenger switch, it'll probably have to go through a few pre-historic relays etc before the signal gets there, its no fibre optic technology!

    Williams #161 Project

Jonni, I forgot to add, with it being a Williams 1, it doesn't have a sunroof, thankfully! :) Are the passenger side window notoriously slow from the drivers switch? I know it's very old technology now, but just wondered!
