    No need to properly remove it no, just tape the connections up so there's no chance of them meeting.

    Remove the battery entirely, but wait a LONG time before you expect the alarm to be dead. My siren thing went off for about 30 minutes after unplugging the battery

    Yep, just shave it like you would your face. A little jug of water to clean to razor off, then a little towel to dry the blade a bit before going at the seat again.
