It gets all its oil and filters changed every 7k. Did the spark plugs about 14k miles ago but I might have a look at them see whether they're sooted up. Ktec filter was cleaned last weekend too!
Never a bad idea as preventative maintenance, they're old cars after all.
Cheers Steve
How do I check that Carl? I have no fancy tools apart from a crappy plugin Bluetooth obd2!
Just been out in it again now and it isn't as bad as I was probably thinking but definitely something not 100%. I'll swap over the map sensor tomorrow as that's easy to do and maybe lambda if it's not...
It's hard to explain, but maybe down to just everything being solid! It's when say I'm changing from 2nd to 3rd as the revs drop down when its in gear and releasing the clutch the car 'jerks'.
Only the pre-cat actually does anything on these am i right? I can change it easily enough. Cars on...
Yeah, it'll still jerk when warm but not as bad.
Literally just had all the exhaust done with a v-band and a crack welded up at the back so that's as sorted as its ever been!
Lambda, wouldn't I see an EML? I have none even with decat (Post lambda is tied above heatshield).
Interesting you...
I need to record it really but probably hard to get on camera. It's really bad when cold recently but not first thing in a morning, only when driving home after work. Pops and bangs and holds back for about 400 metres then it's 'okay' again. Never used to pop and bang
So my car has vibratechnic engine/gearbox mounts and an evol mount ( all less than a year old) and black series bushes everywhere else. For as long as I can remember the car seems to 'jerk' between upward gear changes. I tried pulling the engine forward a while back and this did seem to improve...
I was interested in something similar too as wanted to replace factory satnav with a custom media centre and have it still linked to the radio in the dash.

I've always had a decat mate, it's just that the flange was all bodged on the manifold so was blowing really badly and also cracked at the back.
It feels better now it's not blowing but can't comment on how it compares to cat. Not run one in ages and never with this system!
Took the trip over to CSK today for my exhaust doing and what a great job they did!
Annoyingly I machined the wrong flange lol but nevermind, the non machined one went on more snug anyway!
So he cut off my bastardised repair from a year ago and welded on the new vband flange
Then took to...
Booked in with csk race exhausts tomorrow to have the flange sorted on my manifold.
Machined a vband flange recess to 66mm so it'll sit onto the end of the manifold properly without any messing around sleeving it etc
(Used my spare mani as a point of reference)
Also ordered up parts for a...
Didn't realise you could sell them as they're technically owned by the supplier.
Be careful, once they plug it in they'll get all your midget p**n search history on their laptops
That's a good shout actually. I didn't put any sealant on it and certainly didn't notice an o ring.
Thing is the bracket sits under it so harder to nip it up for a proper seal. What sort of gasket sealer do you recommend? Don't want silicone getting in there.
Access looks pretty tight to get...
Absolutely shite isn't it! Was so tight to remove the old one id be worried about damaging the new seal getting it out again.
Did you just push in your solenoid to seat it? I can't believe it's one single bracket that holds the sensor down in place. Shocking design
Cleaned all the sensor before fitting it but some may have escaped. I'll try my best to clean up the oil and see if it comes back. It's not exactly spitting it out as it's just sat in the seal.
Proper annoying as I just changed the gaskets on the mani and didn't want to be taking it all apart...
