    Seeping vvt

Changed the seal on the vvt solenoid on Saturday and I looked today and it appears to be seeping oil. Is it likely I've not seated it properly? I tapped it in with sockets and made sure it was sat flush then slid in the vvt and tapped that down then tightened up the 10mm bolt.

Decided to change the vvt seal as I'd noticed lots of oil kicking around. What a mess. Took a fair bit of persuasion to remove the seal but got there in the end! All cleaned up and the new seal tapped home with a 27 and 30mm socket. Cleaned up the solenoid and pushed that back in then gave...

Brigsy's other cars - formerly kangoo 172 cup

Such a s**t design! Both my o rings look fine now after swapping from another map sensor but it's still loose. Might see if I can 3d print a bracket similar to on the 197/200. Or I'll wrap it in PTFE ? Vans looking ace mate, 2118s are the best

How loose, is too loose? Map sensor

So removed my map sensor to find a damaged green o ring. I got sent a used map sensor with good o-rings and swapped it over but Its pretty slack in the inlet manifold. How are everyone else's? Worried about getting an air leak tbh.

They'll be fine mate, dont really tend to wear and you just tighten up the bolt in it anyway.

    Paint on air intake sensor

Managed to remove it without damaging any of the clips and it was just oil, o-ring seems fine so wasn't letting anything past it. Cleaned it up and refitted it. Thanks for your help Carl

    Paint on air intake sensor

Schweet. Presume it'll just dissolve off to a certain extent? What're the symptoms if it isn't working properly?

    Paint on air intake sensor

Cleaned up all my inlet manifold and masked off the grey air intake sensor but didn't remove it. Painted them up and I've looked down through the inlet with a torch and can see some paint has tracked down onto it... Does it need replacing? I can remove it and try cleaning it but would this be...

    Map Sensor

Yeah I know, but both go into the same place! Strange they'd use a HNBR and then what I presume to be a normal NBR?

I shoved it in the bath when the Mrs was out and coated it in degreaser then rinsed it all off. Used nylon brushes and brake cleaner to get into the tight areas but it came out clean quite easily. I got some halfords etch primer as a base so it could grip better too.

    Map Sensor

Nice one. I've just ordered a big set of green ones as I measured it to be 6.8 x 2 (ish). Are both the black and green the same? Weird they'd fit 2 different coloured ones

    BG 182

Yeah it's that anthracite wheel paint from Halfords that i told you about at csf. Proper happy with it. Only used just over a can of the stuff for all 3 parts!

Removed all the inlet manifold, throttle body and fuel rail guard for painting. Removed the map sensor but managed to damage part of the green o-ring. Anyone know the size to replace it? Also used the opportunity to clean up all the inside of the throttle body as it had been nearly 2 years...

Hi mate, was this the size required to replace the green o ring on the map sensor?

    Manifold removal

Literally just removed mine. Presume it's the rubber one with the crimped hose? Just put a screwdriver against the end of it and pull it. Should slide off

Not too much has happened recently. Drove a 500 mile round trip for work last week and it didn't miss a beat, got 44mpg for the journey too! Was helped by the endless 30mph and 50mph average speed camera zones... Gave it a wash, finished with black hole and then 2 coats of natty wax. Love how...

    Radio signal booster

It's completely different to your little scenario. Hondas run these standard, the only thing they must have is a stronger inline amplifier. I get a few channels full strength at home, but if i drive elsewhere I lose the channels and cannot find them. Thanks for your help with my question though.
