yh i used near enough a tank but was well worth it some awesome roads really impressive an my motor felt right at home really surprised me how capable the 172 is!
has it actually come off or have you just split it? thats prob jus crap from behind thats come out dont worry too much bang it all back together an pump brakes an take some time inspecting the said caliper by the sounds of it you have only split the dust sheild so it shouldn't really leak now
i usually build the pads up in caliper carrier before i put them back on an fiddle about with them on car. Don't let it get to you too much pal i know how you feel things go wrong for me on cars an i'm a mechanic don't get to stressed cause it only makes the job harder keep ya cool
don't give up luke just get her back together like i said an give her spin then take her garage its only a matter of having a new seal popped in don't let it get to you too much pal
i've done quite a few pal but never really payed much attention i just go in to auto pilot an build them back up how i find them. i'm pretty sure if you put them in back of disc/bearing assembly they should fit flush. If you get proper stuck drop me a line i'm off work tommorow an i aint got...
