I think he means he has a Sony DVD player that has an amp built in, so all his surround sound speakers plug into the DVD player, so he wants to get a BR player that has the same plugs with the amp built in so he doesnt lose all his speakers..
Any DSLR will get you great pics. Its the user that makes the picture, not the camera/lens.
I think you're spending a lot more than you need too really. Nikon D40 would suit you fine for now until you learn some more and also save you £400!

Id like another one of those tbh, but the way the club is now, a lot of the "runs" etc end up with people being idiots. The last time the club was a lot smaller, we cant control who goes and even if we could, you cant control how they drive.. But thats another thread all together..

Have you held them? TBH as a first DSLR a lot will depend on how it feels in your hands.
But I think you should be comparing the 450D and the D40. I dont think the extra for the D60 is worth it.
