I nearly bought a ph1 172 but got a GTi instead, when I was buying (nearly 4 years ago) the decent Ph1s were over £5k so the GTi was a grand less, a fair chunk less on insurance, cheaper tax, cheaper running costs in general. It doesnt matter now because im old and my insurance is low! :D but...
