Fred if you had PE2 on at Oulton then i think Yozz would still be your friend...
Fred you need to get your own car and get it on the track...and leave thoses A539 in the bin..!
Fred,
You should start to include upgraded brake fluid in you brake packages. Especially with the track kit you will just boil the fluid then the upgrades are useless. For me the best performance vs cost is Silkoline pro race 2000. You should stress that upgraded fluid is esential for...
Used it on the clio and the EVO, work great never bolied the fluid in eother car even after track days and Ring trips. For me its an essential brake upgrade.!
Best way to improve your braking skills (easpecially in the wet) is to buy and drive a 172 cup.....!!!!!
No ABS - its a steep learning curve in the wet.. if you have A539 yoko's then its suicidal !!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the same problem with Tesco and they had to get the supervisor to over-ride the system. Their computer added to the premium even when it was a no fault claim.!! For reference it was 80 quid.
Pauls just fitted a 2.2 stroker kit....240@wheels.
previous 2.0 std bottom end 230 @ at wheels.
Remember i was talking engines not cars......CTRs are heavier and more difficult to get off the line. Terminal speeds of 110mph plus are the indicator to engine power...!
RC developments EVO...
Honda Torque spread is oaokay. Fact is you have spend 000's to get 216 in the clio and a JDM CTR standard engine pushes out more. Witht he Hondata ECU vtec point can all be changed and driveability is greatly improved.
I only continued this tread as you mentioned the CTR's guy over inflate...
Ben figures are not over inflated (trustme)... just cause you passed one on a track does not mean anything. The discussion is regarding the engine and the HONDA is far superior std and tuned. Figures mentioned on the post are FACT...! If your little clio had the Honda engine in, it would be much...
165/170lb/ft @4k approx - Hondata moves the v-tec point so its a lot smoother and earlier.
All figures are repeatable i know Paul Jones who owns Sytem R. The top CTR tuning place in the UK. The CTR engine is such a better engine from the factory, Pauls Demo car with std bottom end N/A is...
Shows how crap the Renault engine is for tuning, ther is a lot of hard work and money in that engine. On the CTR a full exhaust, IK and Hondata ECU you get bigger numbers 235bhp approx.....
The Japs really have got it sussed....
Great i have done one ring trip (mostly motorway miles) only and im on the first indicator............!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brembo (Hi-Carbon) are actually high dust.....Low life discs..!
Just get Koni front and rear shocks and Eibach sportlines. Shocks at 3/4 gives equal handling to the Trophy. Driven both and my Cup set-up with the above and 1.5 deg camber at the front and nothing in it.
TBH the cup was far more stable and Trophy was very twitchy but 182's are.
Thats quite normal for a track day with a driver that knows what hes doing. Also the key is a good photograper to get the timing spot on as they only glow for a second or so...... Boiling the fliud usually happens when you stop stationary (no cooling) with the brakes mad hot.. 1 lap of the ring...
Dont tink so...! For me there is nothing in it, 172cup / 182 spring change only. With the 172 just get Konis with the Eibach and its easyily equal to a trophy....182 you have to spend £££££££££ as there are only coil overs available.
Oms you have been in mine...............Whats you feeling...
Talking poop A539s better than PE2s, dont tink so......LOL
PE2s Best all round, all wether road tyre. Although F1 GSD3 are very good for the winter months unlike A539 (widow makers).
Clio // Porsche comparison = none.
Refund or replacement should be given (if they are relatively new ie less than 12month/10miles. If you bought them from DT or any Renault then im sure they would oblige.
