    Yeah you need to modify them. The snipers with a rate of fire around 30 are good. Railway gun is good aswell. There's a few sort of special guns that you'll find. They are the best of the lot

    Mine can be a bit glitchy too. I ended up completing the main mission with the Minutemen. What have I missed with the railroad etc?

    I literally go on a scavenge and grab everything I can. Fast travel back and forth till I've ran the place dry.

    I'd personally leave them. I've done that before and yes it's horrible for the first 50 miles but after that they'll be totally fine

    Tip for you dredz. If you use dogmeat he doesn't count as a companion and you can carry more
