    yeah the electronic (aka FBW) stuff does its own thing, the phs1 "classic setup" is a cable attached between the pedal and the throttle body, it does what your foot tells it to do

    if you want to change to FULL cup setup it would cost you a fortune the stock 172 wheels have a crap offset (ET48 from memory) go to ET37 or so and that'll help a fair amount, plus go for a 7x16 (or 15) with a 205 tyre

    what do you want to know exactly? its more than just wheel offset that makes up the difference

    sounds normal, the engine isn't running, so it won't work as it should with the engine running, PLUS it controls the idle too, so it does do its own thing compared to what your foot does
