iirc one backing is grey and one is black, im sure someone will be along to say exactly which way round it is. But fitment wise they should be identical. EDIT: beaten to it!

Make sure you dry the unit out with hair dryer or similar and that the rubber seal is on properly, ive had the same problem today.

Tape the bonnet pin up tight so it's fooled into thinking it's closed. Have either of your doors been pushed open too far? If so it could mean the hinge is slightly bent thus not making a proper contact? That'd be my best guess?!

You will probably find there is a break in the seat loom, it means taking the upholstry off the seat and taking the loom out and replacing it. iirc the Laguna ones were IRO £300, so probably best off trying to find one second hand.
