No your not the only one with the problem - there are a few threads on here with mention of this.
Either get another standard wheel that hasn't melted (circa £100 -120 or so) secondhand.
Or go for a re-trim, circa £120 -200 or so.
Got mine down to 35 miles left yesterday, no lights came on, the needle was in the red. There was literally no where to fill up as until I got to a service garage (I was on a motorway) - then I got raped for £57.15 !! On some high end BP shizz.

I also just spotted the Illiad Mk2 vee - with full crean interior, never seen an i.d packed one before !

My rears had a couple of thousand left in them & I didn't really want to get them changed yet.
One has a had a bit of a slow puncture for a bit, but there's nothing in the tread etc (wheel off, full inspection) It could have been the valve though, it would lose a couple of lb in a week or so...
I'd deffo get a proper valver rad, it gets mighty hot in that bay !
I think that years ago when I had my valver I got a R19 16V fan & modded the bracket to fit (something like that)
A R19 16V rad might do you too - have to check though.

Apart from the aux & cambelt change (the expensive one) servivcing isn't too bad.
Insurance for me is under £700, i'm 27 full ncd no points etc etc.
Tyres - jusr paid out...
It's been asked before & done a few times. It's not a bad idea if your going for the full valver front end (bumper which is wider than a standard clio, valver/willy bonnet & as you say the front wings)
If you not going for the whole lot it'll look odd.
As for the rear ones you won't need...
