Your budget will get you a minted 172, finding a minter could be difficult though (there are a few sheds out there) There are a couple on here in the for sale section which look nice (one's flame red with factory sat nav in it) If you want a good 182, you'd be looking at 6k upwards really.

The dude probably never had any stamped book at all. If you have bills etc with dates & mileage on that's not so bad. If you have no bills etc, get the name of the dealers he went to (if he did) and get a print out of the invoices. If you can't get anything together, you'll find it hard to...

There are a few threads on here with track prepped cars in, Rich 16v now has a white cup (as does chris n nic) There are a few with normal 172's with cages in etc. For cup racer pics, look on google, there are loads of nice cars on it.

There's nothing wrong with your car at all man :) I apprecaite that you want it to sound a bit 'beefier' obviously that's up to you. All I ever see near me is basic cars with loads of noise coming from them, I guess that they think that their back box which is all noise makes them sound like...
