It's essential for sniffing out all the high-level weapons. They're really important when you're a thief, since you're not really a big-hitter in combat. You need all the single-handed help you can get.
I'm Thane of three cities, head of the Thieves' Guild, own four houses and have some pretty high level items now.
The main quest can wait, I'm still only Lv33.
I thought Deus Ex was my game of the year.
It turns out that the game with 'weird elves and sh*t' might be the greatest game I've ever played. :o
I'm 58 hours in already. LOL. Not even started the first main quest!
There's four stages to Vampirism. By the time you're at the final stage, everyone attacks you on sight and you can only leave cover at night.
You do get +20 Sneak and the advantage of never catching a disease or getting poisoned though.
Just crouch and stay hidden (use the detection meter in the centre of the screen)
Same principle for pickpocket, sneak and stealth combat.
The only drawback is my weakness in one-on-one combat. I'm trying to address that with destruction magic though.
It's so fun to play as a thief though...
Master Thief FTW. Sh*t loads of Gold, the best looking armour in the game and 30x damage if you sneak attack. You can one-shot a Troll.
None of this heavy armour that makes you look like the Tin Man.
Thieves' Guild Armour (Guild Master)
Nightingales Thief Armour
My place in Solitude...
I bought the house in Solitude yesterday. 25,000 Gold for the house and another 12,000 Gold to furnish it.
Gotta love being a master thief. :o Never been caught once either.
