Just to clear this up, polishes take away layers of lacquer. SRP is a very mild abrasive polish so will get rid of waxes etc etc, but will barely touch swirls or scratches. It also contains fillers, meaning it will fill the swirls and make the paint work...
I would be amazed if you take paint off with a orbital, you would be more likely to do as the n00b has said, scratch it with either the machine or a pad accidentally.
The pads definitely won't last those cars. Mine barely last three/four clio's paint work, let alone the audis.

Not a bad habbit to get into mate. I would agree with Ali, however, that just one product line is not really the way to go.
I am not certain that you will need a rotary for this process and think it may be a little over kill/making it harder on yourself. But this is just my thought...
