Yup I have the same but think its cos my drivers side is right next to a bush when I park in the drive. I break the web about 4 times a day and to no avail as its back everytime I get in my car. The best way is prob to take the glass out and remove the spider(s).

Welcome to CS. Which 172 are you looking for? Phase 1 (Older styling, 2001 and earlier, quicker ;)) or phase 2 (revised styling, 2001+)?

^^ Exactly the same for me. Much easier than drilling holes into the engine bay. Once the cable is through you should be able to unclip the plastic trim running at the bottom by the doors to hide the wire in. I have my RCA and amp on/off wire running from the HU under the right side plastic...

I've had some Uniross ones since 2004 and they've been good. I think I've only ever run them out once and have used them in PS2 controllers and worked for quite a while.

Call them before you do the mods to see if they will insure the changes and how much extra you have to pay. Some companies may charge nothing for cosmetic changes.

I'd just pop into a local garage mate. Last MOT station I used only had the equipment to measure and not to alter. They failed me so took it to a garage and he altered it within the price of the MOT anyway.

A paint job wont be a write off will it? Can't see them getting Audi to do it so its wont be perfect. Better to crash it and properly write it off to get a new one? I'm sure I've read on some 'I' docs that if a car is written off within its 1st year, they'll replace it with a brand new one...
