i dont think ordinary boady work paint wont take the heat, stuff like smooth hammerite etc will though. stainless steel clips (i assume you mean jubilee clips) can be found in alomst any shop like halfrauds, or tool shops etc. for hoses etc, samco do them - blue is their main colour.
