Yeah, you're right. Increasing the boost pressure with a remap would give you a louder DV. Running an open filter would be cheaper though, if you just want extra noise.

OE items for your car are Bosch. As Mark One says... don't skimp on them.

It also depends on how the car has been previously driven. The ECU learns and adjusts various parameters to suit. Maybe the car's ECU is just not "used" to being fully extended. A clip flash would solve this, if so.
