The cup was there to re address the balance. The standard phase 2 was too soft compared to the phase 1. They drive keener, make better power, look better. Deal with it ;)

Wrong. I got one of those RS tuner things and uploaded one myself. I actually got it to smooth the idling as it was a bit rough, sorted that and smoothed out the torque too. For the sake of around £60 you cant go wrong imo

Re: whats worth more? 172 cup or 172 full fat?? The phase 2 is the runt of the mk2 RS range, least focused, bit soft really. Out of all the 172's the cups 'feel' and look the best as standard.

Exactly this! I bought new o.e steering wheel for my 172 cup (ebay bargain) new gear knob, door pulls and gave it a serious scrub. Looked like new when I finished! Also new bullets are a good investment

its better to keep it off the master tbh. If you must have it in the office, have you tried swapping adsl filters? Ie take the working one from the kitchen, plug it into the office. Also i presume the office is wired directly off the kitchen master?
