fella down the road just purchased a turbo, black with black wheels, and hes got it so highly/illegally tinted that it basically disappears in the dark. ridculous cars and an amazing sound to wake up to when he drives off to work in the morning at half 8!!
i have the same prob, jus had to wait for a bit, with mine its like the battery hasnt got enough juice to turn off the cars immobiliser, i open my bonnet and leave it for 5 mins or so and it eventually starts. interesting about the key thing though, will have a try, thanks guys.

thanks for all the replies guys, looking really good, really like them. Immi you know i love that car, still not sure on the green though!
my only prob is that mine is a light blue so i cant swap parts over from a sport model directly, they all need painting first which is a bummer. defo...
as above, just wanna see how they all look, and to what degree people have gone to, ie just rear bumper and aftermarket side skirts or all the way with the full kit.
also, could you put all in all prices incl everything from spraying, to parts, to fitting.
thanks
jamie
yeah the rear is a b1tch to get off. ^^^true as well about being easier to respray, you already have a nice smooth surface to start with. . . . . one hopes :D
jamie
just found these on ebay, only useful if the car is silver though :D

with the front bumper inserts they have quite a few clips, but they are quite difficult to get off and take time, damage to the paint work of your bumper is possible if you rush, thats why the shop wont take them off for you.
best thing is to get a screw driver and put some cloth over it and...
christ jesus, thats a motor and a half, liking the use of the tunnels as well, although be careful, coppers are starting to hang around the turn off to ashley road just after them now.
where abouts you from? alderley edge myself, would like to see the beast in action.
jamie
yeah defo need to take it off, think its the same as a 1.2 16v, in which case you need to undo the pop screws of the top grill so it can move off the bash bar, then undo the bolts underneath the cars front that are obvious, then there are two more that are in the wheel arches that you need to...
seen before but well worth a watch. . . . . . . however, if its such a careful clean why is he using a standard sponge. . . . . . . enter the cleaning genius that is Rich!! bet he could wipe the floor with this guy compared to his finish on his black mirror clio!!
jamie
i know its no where near as bad but similar damage, including airbox and fuses as the light got pushed up into them (hard to see from photo, got it back in two weeks, only the 300 quid excess to pay until the other guy realises he cant not admit liability. . . . .
good luck with it mate...
IIRC isnt there a white plastic insert behing the lamp that adjusts the bulb holder up and down, therefore lowering or raising the beam?
there are on my xenons, granted they are not standard, but are off a 182 originally. i can adjust them by putting the right sized allen key in and twisting...
terrorist, unfortunately is my dads insurance and tehy wont speak to me, in a nice way they basically said that they can only discuss things with my dad as it is his car, insurance etc (due to where i live, and my age at the time insurance was a joke for me on my own), but he managed to amke...
right, as some of you will know i had a knock a couple of weeks back and needed stuff replacing (all done under insurance) and the body shop (macclesfield motorbodies) said that they would make the car as it was before. . . . .
this means replacing the mods i have added as follows; xenon...
looking good, god i love the liquids
^^^^^true all the way, last time i offered to have a bit of fun washing the car together (ie wet t shirt comp) she did end up costing me alot of time and elbow grease with polishing out swirls form the bonnet :( worth it though if im being honest ;)
jamie
easy, if rear drums are on then its not a sport.
guy in leeds somewhere has done his really well as well, incl all lowering, wheels, interior, badges, you name it. only way you can tell by lookin at it is that it has rear drums.
looks a good replica though.
jamie
brian you havent got a silly massive exhaust on it have you? wouldnt mind a look myself at some exterior photos, if you have time and dont mind of course, turbodurbo@msn.com if you please.
cheers, jamie
looks like alot of time and money. . . but not well spent IMO. not a fan of kits that look like asdd ons, but its yours and if your happy then that is all that matters mate. welcome to CS. jamie
looks aces mark, but think you should leave the bumpstrips purely because i think it adds depth to the yellow. breaks it up a bit IMO. and suits the dark wheels too. maybe a cup spoiler on the back but leave the ph quick rear bumper.
loving the wheel as well, only concern would be airbag in...
bonjour, welcome to CS, cooper looks a minter, but like has already been said, keep the 172 for weekends!! and maybe a couple of tweeks planned.....?
