I *think* the phase 1 172 has bigger exhaust ports. I'm sure someone will confirm this. Iirc, the phase 2 172 and 182 lumps are pretty much the same bar the exhaust set up

Not really. You have to mod the phase 1 stalk indicator cancel. You need the cancel pin from your phase 2 stalk, and put it in the phase 1. Not a big job, just a little fiddly. Horn wires up on the two outside metal pins of the phase 1 stalk connector. You need x2 resistors, anything from 3-6...

Quick shift will hurt the new box by rushing it, so imo not worth doing. Recon box if it was my money. Remember Cup boxes are different to standard 172 boxes, cup units have a speedo (lol) drive
