Velocity would be lower but cfm would be higher, I wondered if the larger port would compensate for the lower velocity air where the port was dimpled around the valve stem area and so improving overall flow

D24 = VW engine in your car
10mm plunger = ultimately how much fuel the pump can deliver
Daf 45 = 7.5 ton lorry made in Holland
6BT = Engine fitted to above...
I think these D24's Pump's had a 10mm Plunger anyway Craig,
If you want serious amount of coal bolt on the pump from the DAF 45 / Leyland Roadrunner which were fitted with the cummins 6bt they were a Bosch VE and were 6 pot.

I wouldn't cut threads into the bolts, High tensile are normally manufactured with a rolled thread rather than a cut thread for strength,
