R27 has the cup chassis, its the first 197 that came with it :)
I have one as mentioned and its a step up in everyway. Recaros....... look good, but you actually sit lower in the standard seats (i had standrad seats, then sourced some Recaros for mine) and the standard onesare 100%...
Tis cool. Saw a GW 200 in capenhurst the other week, looked well! Still think the front is a little clumsy, but meh, i'd take one judging by the write ups they are getting
Perfect. I'm running some 16mm spacers with H&R coilovers, and expriencing some slight rubbing on the bumper around the arch liner....... going to have to remove the spacers i think :(
Apparently they have modded the hub carrier on the REVOKNUCKLE ;) ... also known as double axis, bit less unsprung weight, so all good. New chassis would only comprise of reworked dampers/springs and possibly arb, nothing else
Cannister, 100%. Not too expensive either (iirc about £50) no probelm if left though. If you rev it to say 5k, the noise will disappear, then return after 20 seconds or so. Its also alot more apparent in the car than outside.
Trust me, test drive a 172 cup warm it up, then take it past 5k. They feel brutal. I still miss mine. The 182's feel to have less 'go' in them (i've had both) They both will pull a good few lengths on Fiesta ST's.
Thread revival.......
I've bought some today for my 197 from euro performance. You cant get 10mm hubcentrics, as there is not enough material on the spacer to sit on the hub wheel locator (spiggot?) They generally start at 15mm. So iv'e bought 4 16mm ebaich, and x16 longer wheel nuts to suit.
Not just seating position in the MK2 for me though. Lack of steering adjustment, massive wheel, offset pedals, gear stick too far forward.........the whole design is pretty flawed?
Here we go
You can clearly see the extra depth of the Recaro (the drivers seat was adjusted as low as possible). Fro me they were worth the money, as they can be sold on at a later date. They cost me about £200 for two years use. How much is a Viper £250?!
Recaros are worth it if your a badge wh0re like me. I had them fitted to my 172 Cup, and kept them for my 182. When i changed back to standrards to sell, they were like night and day tbh.... standard seats are higher still, and offer no real support. I'll dig out a pic of side by side...
I see your old cup most days, its at the Bickerton Poacher. Think the chef comes from Wrexham way ;)
