Suppose thats why i have the best of both worlds. I have the gf's 106 GTI often, and i love that. Old school, not a million miles off RS pace, raw. Its a good car.
as posted above though, slightly damed if they do, damed if they dont. The rattles/gruffnes of the mk2 grated on me after 4 years...
I tell thee a ten min drive will leave you cold. But, on my way home 11 o'clock at night, deserted B road, nothing comes close to the 197 on the ragged edge, point it, wrestle it into the corners, 6.5k on the way out, (slight corection to counter the oversteer if prevoked (sp)) bang up the cogs...
Easy, few torx 20's iirc. It then clips into the bumper around the number plate. Take your time and you'll be fine :)
Good access to the exhaust tips too ;)
Nay bad imo!!
I never liked Red cars, but with the gf having a 106 gti in Cherry Red, it comes up a treat when waxed etc. So much so i think i'd have Red next :)
£55ish to fill it from empty
I get 27-30 mpg. I live in the sticks, and most of my drving is 10-20 miles at a time, (spirited) so its not too bad. In my 172/182 it was about 33-34 ish.....
