Hello Colin,
Yes it was a great day weather was good, pity we only got the 2 timed runs, I reckon you'd have done me tbh as I was on the limit on the T1r's just cooked them, still the car was 2-5 seconds quicker than in standard trim, so I'm happy, at best I reckon a high 108 was possible for...
Not a problem, I still want the flywheel from you as well if you still have it ? forgot all about that tbh, I'm not sure what weekends I'll have free but send me a pm on available dates your free and I'll call across to yours, mines a temp fix untill I have a good look but it idles ok and...
What I did John was change the bolt holding the TB on with a 50mm set screw and fitted an angle bracket, this way you can adjust the tension as required, the spring needs to be running parrallel with the bolt and not at an angle as you have it, I don't think it helps that the throttle plate is...
Is the alternator the limiting factor of how much you can angle the runner lengths down or would changing this change the results, looking at the view under the bonnet the back plate is close, would a smaller alternator help? we can't remove this part even the plastic trim.
Fantasic result and great work it's a credit to you both, as said it's how it drives that counts so I wouldn't worry about the figures although 195bhp aint bad, any chance you could make that fit under the standard slam panel with a shorter rad ?

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Cheers Dan, will probably need setting up again, but when I got home I just could'nt drive it as it was, it would idle from 1400-2500, it does get warm and stalls every now and then on warm days !
Regards...

Hello James,
Fantasic drive and a great result mate well deserved, loved the off road stuff mate epic, just think how it'll go once you've got it fully set up and some more seat time, again well done...

Well done James, I didn't post good luck as I didn't want to put the mockers on you lol, then when they said you'd thrown an aux belt in practice I couldn't beleive it, and again well done looking foreward to...
Again well done lads looking foreward to the incar, there's 2 teams from the Northwest who used to sprint running next year, wish I could afford to enter and run a car, good luck at Oulton Park.
Regards Russ............
The 2nd item is the bearing you want looking at mine when I got the full kit, I'd say it depends on the condition/age/mileage of the rest of the top mount, I'd be inclined refresh the lot in one go but you could try just the bearings on their own, a trader would be able to give you a better...

Well done James looking foreward to the results, and well done Fred for getting it all back together.

Sorry if that came across the wrong way it wasn't meant to,:o I'd love to fit these but regs say OE only for road going cars, for road/track car possibly the mounts would be enough, I'd say the strut brace would be for rally cars to help when they land over yumps etc, if you lift your bonnet and...
I think you'll find it's tied into the fixing bolts for the top mounts, so secures the top mount and struts in their correct location and not just a couple of self tappers across the strut top body.
Regards Russ.....
Genuine question, do you need to rev that high, would it be possible to lower the rev limiter to say 7600 and see if you get the same symptoms, I noticed my car used to run a bit rough after hitting the limiter on the OE throttle which is a 172 Cup, just wondering if it's a symptom of the cut...
Hello John
I'll drive up early doors as normal when it's the one day, would like to do both days as I've got times for both National and International when the car was standard, trying to get Colin to double drive mine if he wants.
Regards Russ....
Cheers John, went a lot better than I thought TBH over drove the last run and was lucky to recover over the top of the hill.
Good day all round, and would just like to say to anyone thinking of fitting these cams that it's well worth the money, suprised me and Colin how quick it was just...
I've checked my email and can't see anything if you've sent something Colin, I wasn't sure about the Scooby, Steve is running in his but can't remember this one and thought that they had just amalgamated him into 1B as there's nothing running in 1C.
Sounds like a plan, may try all day if you want, only if it's dry though lol, just been and had a look at the current starters and we've got a Scooby in class as well now.
Regards Russ...........
Hello Chip,
So is there a recomendation you can give when you go to a RR when mods have been done to maintain consistency in the results within a low percentage, I make sure the car is warmed up the front tyres are 31psi and the tank is 1/2 full, I would have thought mine would make about 175...
Yes, they have only got 40 up to now and John said they are leaving options open untill Friday, I think as you know 60 is the min for them not to loose out.
Just a quick reply, you can get these paddles re-tipped, I used to give my old paddle to SkipBrown as this is what will wear first, this way I used to get 2 seasons out of one assembley as these are not ideal on a rd car, used to cost about £60-00 cheaper than going direct that's if they sell...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
I met James for the first time at 3 Sisters when he came to spectate and he's a top bloke, I hope this gets sorted for him as in my mind he deserved a lot better than he's got from speaking to him, but he's...
What I said ages ago, how F***ing stupid are we then:o, still not sure about these Bilis and will have to lift it up and see how it goes, I'll take the ARB up to stiffest setting as I've noticed the near side rear spring has moved to a strange position on it's seat:S
I think the problem is to use the same RR to compare mods, you need to know if something has gained or not, as I've said my gains are against times I've set last year but have to add to
add the suspension mods to this, I've averaged 3-410th's at events from last year but I am getting older and...
I was gunna ask this but thought he'd have noticed as they are marked up flywheel side etc, I had an AP lug drive clutch on the Pug and this ran with small rebates in the PTS flywheel for correct clearance but assume this is just an OE replacement paddle.
Regards Russ............
I thought TDF's and RS Tunings RR were 2 you could trust as most have said on this forum, I did question mine but Matt said that's what it made but I got no before reading, I'm not looking to argue about this just stating what I found and I've gained 23bhp between the 2 RR,s with not to many...
