@coverman
I have a Stormforce fitted car cover for my 23yr old MX-5, but I'm worried about using it over winter and encouraging condensation = rust.
It's a breathable cover and wasn't cheap, but would you recommend using it over winter or not?
The bikers who annoy me most are the 16yr old on mopeds riding like they're Marc Marquez, weaving through traffic and then holding you up as soon as the road opens up.
Whether you like him or not, that's a cool video. Ken admits he's not the best driver in the world, but that doesn't mean we can all what he does. It makes me laugh when people slate Ken Block, but love the Fast and Furious movies... Go figure.
Long time no see mate, I'm good thanks! Dolan, that's him... Met him a few times at Curborough when he's been running his Ignis. He may have a Swift too, but he raced an Ignis a while back and it's that car he brings to Curborough.
How's you?
I'm already a member at Curborough and use the circuit regularly, it's just a case of getting my MSA license and safety gear and having a go. In a way that's also the downside because I'm not really trying anything new.
My mates are trying to talk me into doing a race series next year. Cheapest way would be to do the Curborough Sprint Championship which is minutes from my house. I keep watching BRSCC videos of the Mazda MX-5 Championship, which doesn't look massively expensive (but I bet it is!).
Not yet mate, as you know I'm a very reserved driver and don't like to drive with any form of aggression unless the conditions are absolutely perfect :smirk:
I've heard that the latest Swift is very easy to get more power from a simple remap, like 12bhp over something crazy. I'm not sure if yours has the same ECU though?
There's a place not far from me called PartBox that sell aftermarket modifications for cars like ours. He runs a very quick Ignis...
To be fair my brother has just popped round who was a tyre fitter back in the day, and he said they'd be fine providing I don't do any trackdays on them lol.
I went to A-Line in Dudley today to have the front toe and camber set. The weather and traffic was too crappy to test out the alterations, so I'll save that for another day!
Got a set of wheels in the garage with tyres, but the tyres appear to be perishing. Not much, but enough to make me think about changing them even though there is loads of tread left :confused:.
I was thinking maybe they'd be okay on the back providing I drove sensibly?
What you guys reckon...
Totally agree about 'unloveable EP3' comments... They're better than a Clio in nearly every way, but they're so clinical it's almost boring. Even after I'd spent £500 at ABP having the infamous FRSU, and after I'd thrashed around Oulton Park I still didn't get excited about driving it.
Awesome...
