    “Charlotte” The 182 FF

🤣 That hard, short braking into Barcroft before Sunny In is a proper scary moment. There used to be a gate there years ago, and I’ve been through that a few times. If the car isn’t straight and stable as you enter Barcroft, braking is definitely going to give you problems. No better feeling...

    “Charlotte” The 182 FF

Don’t lift through the Jim Clark Esses - keep your foot flat through the first two corners. Then ease off slightly just before turning into Barcroft to keep the car settled. Be cautious not to carry too much speed into Hawthorns. If you go in too hot, you'll run wide, which compromises your...

should the 182 have a rear arb ?

As above, they’re not standard. They have a torsion beam running through the middle but it’s main purpose is to absorb shocks and maintain ride height. Out of curiosity are you just using the car on the road or track?

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

It’s been a glorious start to the summer, and I was looking forward to so many things with this little car. Sadly, she’s coming off the road until I can address this oil issue. If anybody has a decent, working 182 engine that I can switch over while I get this engine off for a refresh, please...

    Yay, another problem!

You don’t remove the rings, the pipes unclip. It’s pretty straight forward once you’ve figured it out. Very much like the fittings on the carbon canister pipe that goes to the inlet.

Renault Clio 182 OEM Parts List

I know Grams are making the 182 Cup Springs. I have a brand new set here, which look identical and still have the Renault part number. I’ll be fitting them in the summer, so will feedback. Hopefully, more companies will get on board as there’s still a market, I’m sure 🤞🏻

    Brembo,s or better pads ?

For reference, most 172/182 racing in TDT/TDC/ClubSport Trophy - I think it’s the same for the K-Tec 182 Championship - use standard calipers with a decent pad setup like DS1.11/DS2500 with braided lines, racing fluid and a set of big balls. No need for bigger calipers on a 172/182 unless...

DS1.11 if you're doing track days.

    Brembo,s or better pads ?

Standard Brembo pads aren’t the most confidence inspiring. I switched mine out for HP2000 which is the Brembo Sport version and those were a little better. I’m currently using DS2500s, but not even sure if they’re available these days. I’m talking for general daily road use. Lots of other...

🤣 The drama hasn’t gone unnoticed 👀, and I didn’t for a moment think the clique would lower its drawbridge for a peasant like me! 🤣 Just a few lads from work, but it sounds like my car’s more likely to make it than yours. If the clique ever wants a race to Germany, it can be arranged! 🚙💨💥

Biggish service on the car today. I was going to get work to do it, but then I remember how they hate working on these old cars. So, I’ll just let them do an oil service when it’s due later in the year. It’s been three years and 6,000 miles since the spark plugs were changed, so I figured I...

Renault Clio 182 OEM Parts List

Yes, I noticed the mistake after posting—it was my error. When I checked with Monroe, the number had disappeared, which is why I mentioned that some parts are no longer in production since I compiled the list. I guess this is one of those cases. I should have been more careful, but the list is...

Renault Clio 182 OEM Parts List

I think KONI offers an alternative – 8710-1395SPORT. I'm not sure if they specifically cater to the CUP versions, though, which I imagine would be more road-compliant, with the KONI being more performance-oriented. Was there much difference between the standard strut and the CUP versions back in...
