If you lost just 60 kgs (all would still be easily reversible) you'd see your power to weight increase from 110 to 116 per ton.
That's the sames as getting a 7 bhp, or 6% power increase assuming a starting point of 1,100 kgs.
I've stripped my Cup back to the bare metal, and think I've shed a genuine 70 kgs.
That puts me about 950 kgs and with 177.8 bhp my power to weight ratio is 187 bhp/ton.
The table below shows just how much extra horsepower the other RS models would need to keep up on a power-to-weight ratio...
Well, sort of.
Every little helps :approve:
I'm now at a solid 186 bhp per ton.
Got myself a nice 6kgs seat to go in next, hope to have that in before the Combe action day - and if that saves me 15kgs, I'll be somewhere around 190 :approve:
Waste of money? Cost more?
An ITG panel filter costs £47 once, and it lasts forever...or you could pay £15 for a paper one at every service.
You do the maths.
I've done probably 85k on mine now, and all it gets is a blast from Mike's air-hose at every service (6k).
As far as any...
Exactly!
Sit there, LISTEN to what you're told, do what you're told, and you'll have a blast.
Get in thinking you're the next F1 star and you'll have a s*** time.
I thought the grooves were to stop the build-up of gas you get fizzing out of a pad from the pad material binding resin when it's hot.
That's what fade is, a layer of gas between the pad and disc I thought, and the holes or grooves allow that cushion to be periodically broken.
Does that make...
Agreed.
Low grip levels in the wet, but I found them very very progressive.
In the dry, they put up with abuse and temperatures that would have treadblocks hanging and falling off a set of Michelin PE2's.
I wish they still made them, on my 15s they'd be about £1.00 each.
As said by many, I can't believe so many people see that as pivotal in choosing a car.
Most people do have working fingers after all, and how often do you need to adjust them?
You can.
Advantage is you also balance the brake/disc part as well so it's all good.
Not many places have the kit anymore though...

No offence intended but I'm ROFLMFAO at that.
Looks like it should have two clowns sat on the roof before the doors, bonnet and boot pop off.
Hilarious.
I'm glad to say I never did. Ever.
Had a bash in my mates 182 recently, and it's got the urge, but feels less frentic, less immediate. Throttle response is a little softer too.
For the pure driving experience it has got to be the original Cup.
Very very few sadly. Why should they? Everyone's a perfect driver after all.
I'm an advanced driving instructor so I fall into the mature and sensible driver category. I do put my foot down and make obscene progress whenever I can, but only if traffic and road conditions permit. I also give...
